The IISER Aptitude Test (IAT) is a national-level entrance examination conducted for admission to the prestigious Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research (IISERs). It serves as a gateway for students aspiring to pursue a career in science and research through the BS-MS dual degree program offered across IISER campuses. The exam is designed to evaluate a candidate’s understanding and analytical ability in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Biology. Open to students who have completed or are appearing for Class 12 with a science stream, the IAT provides an excellent opportunity for young minds passionate about scientific exploration to secure admission to some of India’s top research-oriented institutes.

Duration : 3 Hours

Mode : Online

Level : Moderate to Difficult

Pattern : Objective Questions

Subjects : Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Maths (XI & XII)

Marking Scheme : + 4 (for Correct Answer), - 1 (for Wrong Answer) and 0 (for Not Attempting)

ELIGIBILITY

  • 12th pass or equivalent (PCMB/PCM/PCB) with 60 % aggregate marks overall

  • Maximum of 3 attempts allowed
